WHO WE ARE
The Alliance of Antelope Valley is a collective of black-led and black empowering organizations based in the Antelope Valley. We are rooted in social, medical, and reproductive justice.
As a collective, we provide culturally affirming alternative care that is centered in mental health and the promotion of healthy birthing outcomes in the community.
OUR MISSION
The Alliance of Antelope Valley's Mission is ...
To transform the Black community by increasing the physical and mental health and economic outcomes of Black birthing mothers in the Antelope Valley area.
OUR CORE VALUES
At the core of the Alliance of Antelope Valley lies an unwavering belief:
Black mothers are the heartbeat of our community. We serve as the catalyst and nexus for social justice and transformative change, embodying the resilience that sustains our existence.
While we aspire to a future where the nuclear family prevails, the current reality places a disproportionate burden on Black mothers, who bear the weight of the Black family.
OUR GOALS
We aim to establish a network and village of support for black birthing persons, who are disproportionately impacted by infant and maternal mortality.
Our alliance will provide culturally centered and holistic healing practices, social support and linkage to needed supportive services.
Grow the capacity of five (5) black led and black empowering organizations in the next 12 months
Create and provide a training path and stipend for birth workers in the Antelope Valley
