3 Years Without Roe — And the Supreme Court Is Still Dismantling Reproductive Rights

Three years ago, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, erasing nearly 50 years of constitutional protection for abortion rights. Since then, dozens of states have restricted or eliminated access, setting off a reproductive health crisis across the country.

And this week, the Court delivered another blow. In Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, justices ruled that Medicaid patients cannot challenge a state’s decision to exclude providers like Planned Parenthood—even when they seek non-abortion services. This decision gives states more power to defund critical healthcare access for low-income communities, especially in the South.

These barriers don’t just affect healthcare—they affect our futures.
When reproductive freedom is stripped away, so is the ability to plan our lives, protect our bodies, and pursue the future we deserve.

Here’s what we can all do to push back:

  • Know your state’s laws and share accurate information in your community
  • Support reproductive justice organizations doing the work on the ground
  • Break the silence—have real conversations about reproductive health
  • Vote in every election, especially local and state races where these decisions are being made

We’re proud to stand with our partners—In Our Own Voice, The Afiya Center, Black Women for Wellness, New Voices for Reproductive Justice, SisterLove Inc., SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW!, Women With a Vision, SisterReach, and SisterSong—in pushing for a future where every Black woman and gender-expansive person has autonomy, access, and justice.

Now more than ever, we stay in the fight.
